The Government Accountability Office has started podcasting highlights of its recent investigations — because who doesn’t enjoy listening to some government oversight while riding the subway or using the treadmill?

GAO’s Watchdog Report” features five-minute interviews with auditors and investigators on new investigations. Frankly — having read through too many GAO reports to count — a five-minute summary seems like a great alternative to the heavy reading often contained in such publications.

So far GAO has produced episodes regarding the U.S. Postal Service’s financial condition, updates on the 2010 Census preparations, key issues facing NASA, sexual assault issues in the military and its latest quarterly progress report on the economic stimulus.
